Welcome to our Frequently Asked Questions.

Here you will find answers to questions you may have, as well we hope it will give you an idea of how your session will run. If, after reading through this, you still have additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out via email or text.

  • How do I book an appointment?
Booking is simple! Please head over to our Contact Us Page and send us a TEXT or give us a phone call. At this time we will not be accepting bookings through e-mail.

How many dogs can I bring?
Because of our available parking, bookings are limted to one car per booking, there are 2 available parking slots to help accommodate overlap (potty/drying time and arrival of the next appointment). With that said, you are welcome to bring as many dogs as you can fit in you car AND safely manage in the pool and area. There are crates around the pool area to house dogs who may need a break.
  • What breed of dog can I bring?
All breeds, sizes and ages are welcome, as long as they are physically and mentally able to swim. Dogs in recovery or using the pool for rehabilitation will require a letter from their veterinarian prior to attending their swim.
  • What if my dog has never swam before?
On A Whim is an excellent place to help introduce your dogs to swimming. With a comfortable temperature, controlled environment and plenty of toys available we find dogs are not only willing to take the plunge, but excited to! First time swimming dogs, or dogs under 8 months old will require the use of a life jacket.
  • Is there a dock that my dog can jump off?
No, we do not provide dock diving practice. On A Whim was created for leisure and rehabilitation swimming. There is an entrance/exit ramp on the pool where the dogs can easily navigate onto a platform. Jumping off the platform is discouraged due to the 8 foot ceilings.
  • Can I swim with my dog?
On A Whim has an experienced dog handler available for your first couple of sessions at no charge to help assist your dog in the water as we believe that a positive experience can shape your dogs love of swimming. We do not allow other people in the pool for hygienic and safety reasons.
  • How long is my session?
Sessions are booked at 30 minute intervals. You can book as many concurrent sessions as you would like, however, it is important to remember that swimming is a full body workout for dogs and they should be conditioned to swimming for times greater than 30 minutes.
  • Can I book with friends?
YES! If you are booking with a friend, please bear in mind that there is a 1 car limit with each booking.
  • Do you offer classes or events?
At this time we do not offer any classes or events, but stay tuned as we have plans for a Swimgility league.
  • Can I book your pool to host physical therapy sessions?
If you are a licensed physical therapist and are looking for a spot to host sessions, please reach out to us directly to make these arrangements.
  • Do you offer memberships or packages?
Yes! Please visit our Prices and Packages page to see the different packages that we have to offer!
  • What if my dog poops in the pool?
We encourage you to ensure that your dog has taken care of their business PRIOR to your swim, however if you dog does end up pooping in the pool there will be a $200.00 charge as the pool will need to be drained and refilled!
